Moving
#1
Just to let you all know that in a month or two I'll be moving from the USA back to the UK.

This is almost certainly going to limit my ability to play with programming and be around. Sad - most of my stuff is going to be in shipping containers for at least three months. Probably more while I find a job and somewhere to live. So if I disappear, I'm sorry! I'll be back!

Does it work in UK? Different voltage, different plugs...
Hope you will check the forum again from time to time.

I'm spending half my time staring at electrical appliances to find out just that!

Quite a lot of things these days, because of world markets, tend to deal with more or less any voltage thrown at them; which is good. So yes, it will work with the voltage. Hair dryers don't but computer gear almost universally does.

Different plugs tho... yeah. I'm going to have to buy in plug convertors wholesale...

Or just new cables...

That too. Though I need several different types. A dozen plug converters might be easier- they go on all of the cables.

Sadly there is no standard sockets in the world. The humans are not united
Anyway, I hope, you make britain to your new home. I would never decide to do such a big leap.
BTW: I hope to release the first preview version of BorIDE in one or two weeks (Found a big Bug that needs fixing first), so you will have some time to test it until you go.

All right. The people are booked to take all my stuff away tomorrow.

If anyone wants to play with the projects I've got on hold - 64 char print and fourspriterFast, then go right ahead (Boriel has a copy of the almost working fourspriter code - and that was the basis for the putTile routine I did earlier).

If not, I'll try to pick them up when I have my programming rig back - or earlier if I get really bored and want to make a stab at it on a netbook :-)

You all look after yourselves in the meantime (I'll probably be by to visit, but I doubt I'll be doing much in the way of coding).

I will try. I'm rather busy finishing some Master subject, but will try to take your projects, and integrate them in the compiler as libraries.

Have a nice journey!

Thankyou, LCD.

Just waved goodbye to almost all of my posessions.... wow does that feel weird. Now I'm trusting a bunch of absolute strangers to make it magically appear in the UK. Some of the stuff made the journey when I moved over here... so that's going to make for some /extremely/ well travelled items.. *lol*

Perhaps You need to hear the song Moving from the artist Kate Bush.
Movings strangers ...

when a brit says they are moving, they usually mean relocating from one dwelling to another - moving house.

In this case, I relocated from Oklahoma back to the UK.

Good news is I have a job offer. I start next week; so I'm now looking for somewhere more permanent to live near there!

As you might be able to tell from my lack of appearances on here, it's been a fairly manic month.

I've also quit my job and moved to another one, so I'm currently very very busy setting things up again. I'm alive  but have no time to write here very often. This happened so suddenly...
