I went to see it more than two weeks ago, but due to problems with my DSL and my Internet Provider, I couldn’t almost update my blog.
I have to admit I went to see the film with some preconception in mind (western cowboys, a gay movie and so on). But I think I did with as much prejudice as many other people. Prejudice which went away completely after about quarter an hour. If you’re expecting to see hard scenes, you will feel it quite boring. In fact, some people found it a bit slow.
I simply felt it was a story about two people who loves each other.
Synopsis: Brokeback mountain, by Ang Lee, tells a story about two unemployed cowboys, Ennis del mar (Heart Ledger, who also playedThe Grimm Brothers and The Patriot) and Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal, whom I always seen on a supporting role, like in The Good Girl) who are hired to work in the underground by a livestock farmer to look after his sheeps in Brokeback mountain (a place where it’s forbidden to do it, by the way).
As long as days pass and weather conditions becomes harder, the both share more time together, which makes that, from having almost no communication at all, they slowly start a friendship.

Movie based on a true story. It shows the life of a Geisha in Japan during the 2nd World War.
I haven’t read the book (and, as it usually happens, people who did has found the movie somewhat disappointing), but loved the movie, and found it truly amazing.
The fact is that there’s been some controversy in Asia (in Japanese and China people), for being two chinese (and not japanese) actresses playing Geishas. Both Zhang Ziyi and Michelle Yeoh have already play together in another famous movie, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, directed by Ang Lee, that brings us another succesful movie this year, Brokeback Mountain (which I’ll be watching soon).
Synopsis:
Two sisters were sold to bondage by their elder parents, because they couldn’t afford to take care of them. They’re later resold and finally separated. One of them, the younger, has blue eyes (something rather odd for an Asian girl), which catchs everybody ’s attention.
More details about the older sister (spoiler) ▼
While the little one is bound to become one of the most importan geishas in Japan, the other will be forced to prostitute. Unfortunately, the main character of this story will lose track on her sister and never have news about her anymore.
During her childhood, she bumbed into the Chairman of a Japanese company, that brings her a warm and lovely moment of hope in such a world of misery. Since that moment, the girl will direct her life to reencounter that man.
She kept on living in poverty and misery as a slave, till she is tutorized by another very well-known Geisha, named Mameha (Michelle Yeoh), that will transform her in one of the most important Geishas of Japan.
But the 2nd world war, the atomic bomb and other events of the umpredictable destiny will bring new changes…
A beautiful story, with a nice romantic touch.
About the real story (spoiler) ▼
As far as I know, she and her loved left Japan after the war and moved to USA.

This four release of Harry Potter is, by far, much darker than the previous ones.
The charactares, more mature (teenagers, in fact Daniel Radcliffe has a blurred moustache in same takes!) have now other interests and a more mature behaviour.
The story begins with a Quidditch competition (in fact this episode is mostly about competitions), which is interrupted by the attack of terrifying and misterious mages.
Show ▼
Of course, those are the bad guys: the Death Eaters.
After returning to Hogwarts, the dangerous TriWizard Tournament takes place, but only older and prepared Mages can apply to the contest.
Show ▼
The Goblet of Fire is a magical item which decides who can enter the dangerous tournament. As you might have already guessed, Harry Potter’s name is selected by the item, which causes a commotion at the school.
The tournament is certainly dangeours, and Harry Potter’s life is now in danger, because it’s montadory to enter the contest for the elected applicants selected by the Goblet of Fire.
As you can imagine, behind all of this is the one whose name must not be said. Yes, Voldermor is back, and this time to stay.
Unlike previous episodes, all the movie plot happens at Hogwarts. I missed Harry’s relatives characters, they were funny.
In general, I like the movie more than the previous. Improved special effects except for the diving scenes, where computer rendering was evident for a movie which carries out what it was made for: entertaining.

At first, the movie didn’t catch my attention (didn’t watch the trailer, either). But, surprisingly to me, it resulted a great film:
Two siblings, the Grimm brothers travel along Europe during the XVII century, solving misteries and freeing villages inhabitants from enchantments. Actually they happen to be merely ruffians who trick everyone to earn some money by fooling people with their own superstitions.
On the other hand, the Napoleon’s army is having some resistence with a terrified village near a forest in Germany. The captaing, knowing they’re mere swindlers, force them to cooperate to solve the mistery of the missing girls.
Little spoiler… ▼
Some girls have already disappeared into the forest: a girl with a Little Red Riding Hood and also did Greta, Hansel’s sister. The film shows this little clues many times, that recalls us the Grimm brothers’ famous lore tales.
The film have good special effects, and some takes resembles some of the most known Grimm’s tales which make the movie entertaining. The ambience is perfect, and both the Grimm brothers characters (especially the one played by Matt Damon) and some others (like Monica Bellucci, also seen in Matrix Reloaded as Persefone) are really interesting and in some moments absolutely delightful.
Do not read this if you are going to watch this movie ▼
One of the brothers is absolutely skeptical while, on the other hand, the other (erudit especialized in legend and myths) believes that something strange and mystic might be happening in the forest. A ranger woman will guide them to the inner forest in which there is a clearing with a high abandoned ancient tower standing there.
Everything seems to point there actually is a mistery to solve and that same spell or enchantment cursed that place. Or perhaps it’s just the imagination and the darkness into the forest trying to fool one’s reason?
I won’t reveal anything else, because the films really worth to be watched.
I sincerely recommend to watch this film.

Sincerely, during this month, movies here in Tenerife, do not look attractive to me. With Torrente III on most theathers (I don’t like that kind of movies, sorry for Torrente’s fans), Bewitched (I haven’t seen it, but have been told is not so good) and some others, it’s not tempting to go to the cinema.
I entered Stealth, because it seemed the less bad and I always loved everything related to Artificial Intelligence.
I have to say it surprised me a little, despite of being the typical action movie and a little predictable:
In a near future, stealth fighter jets are really high-technological (and expensive) weapons. An elite division formed by three pilots (2 guys and a girl), suddenly have to fly with a new member: A fighter jet with Artificial Intelligence that it’s capable of pilot itself. During a mission, a lightning hit the jet and its behaviour becomes unpredictable and potentially dangerous.
Spoiler ▼
The jet can talk, and communicate with humans by radio.
I expected it became crazy just after the lightning hit it and started to destroy cities and so on, and later make more and more incredible things (meanwhile frustrated humans tried to kill it), ’till someone ideates a smart solution to achieve its destruction.
But there I was wrong: The behavior transformation of the jet was progressive and not suddenly. The eventual jet behaviour was also a little surprising.
The best scene: The slow-motion explosion in the hangar, where people went away through the air (I wonder whether they where stunts or just dummies).
The worst one: The dark-filmed scene where the starring couple talks about the new plane. The photography is a bit noisy.
The movie script is certainly simple, but, on the other hand, it’s action-packed to avoid the public getting bored. The takes from the jet cabin, the electronic gadgets and all the stuff sorrounding them makes the movie entertaining.
Spoiler!!!… ▼
Another thing I’m fed up of: Why is always the black guy the diying one? I knew it just after the film started. Supporting role black character? Come on, this men kicks the bucket for sure. In this way (and many others), the film quite american, but, at least you don’t see USA flags overpopulating the screen anytime despite it’s military ambience.
And the last, but not the less (you already know if you’ve watched the movie): Atteh end, the jet have feelings and becomes a good-guys (I expected they simply destroy it). Where have I seen it before? In many films, e.g., Short Circuit. It’s not a very creative idea. It seems to me, that, in USA the idea of lightning hit computers become sensitive is wide spread. Don’t try, I tell you the actual result, the get burnt.
Anyway, nice movie.
