This tip will work (or should do) for any Debian-based distro, including Ubuntu and Kubuntu.
First of all, you have to install Firefox 2.0. At the moment of posting this, the Ubuntu package has not been released yet, so you should go to download a.gz file from here, although I got an optimized version, Swiftfox, for which there exists a Debian package (Ubuntu & Kubuntu compatible) you can download from here.
Once this file is downloaded, open a console and chdir to the directory where you stored the file, and type:
sudo dpkg -i swiftfox_2.0-1_pentium4.deb

Well, I’m back again! A month without posting anything. Wow!
I’ve certainly been very busy with many businesses. I’ve also changed my screen monitor (not really satisfied with it, though) for a 19″ one (LG Flatron Wide L194WT), and also switched my ISP. I’ve switched to Ono (yes, I know I must take care with this provider, but here, in Spain, sooner or later all of them have behaved badly to the customers).
Let’s cross fingers… I quit my previous line due to its low quality for which Telefónica gave me no solution (ah, well, yes, they told me to change DNS??) Switching to another ISP won’t improve anything, since, in Spain, any ADSL line is owned by Telefonica, so I finally moved to cable. At the moment 2Mbs (soon upgrading to 4Mbs) of download speed, and 300Kbps for upload (tests shows marks very close to the theorethical limits), and the fee is lower.
So let’s see how long does it last…
As promised, some panorama pictures of Madrid. I really enjoyed there and miss it a lot…
